Michelle Shocked Nightstage, Cambridge, Ma. May 14th 1988

Sorry! Michelle doesn't want this music made public so I took it down. Check her out anyhow.

As far as I remember Michelle Shocked walked into Nightstage barefooted and had hitchiked her way to Cambridge with her guitar, due to play the opening set before Rick Danko and his band.
She had quite a buzz going at the time, having gained instant fame with her first release called The Texas Campfire Tapes, an album recorded on the little brother of the tape machine these weeklyleaks were recorded on, The Sony Professional Walkman.
Michelle Shocked turned out to be an excellent story teller, musician and activist entertainer and really hit the sweet spot with the Cambridge folk crowd. Mr Bones came up and played his bones near the end of the first set, he was a regular at the Nightstage, played with all sorts of people, his real name was John Burrill and died in 1993. Michelle has released a pile of great albums and is frequently on the road, try and catch her if you can.
